2024-2025 Season Recap

Hortonville Powerlifting had an exceptional 2024–2025 season, marked by standout individual performances, historic team finishes, and national recognition.

 

December 7, 2024 – Laconia Meet
The season started strong with a solid showing from the JV squad. Hortonville took 1st place for both JV Boys and JV Girls, setting a high standard for the rest of the year.

 

January 4, 2025 – Winneconne Meet
Varsity lifters continued the momentum, with both Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls finishing in 2nd place. Several lifters posted top finishes, helping build confidence heading into the core of the season.

 

February 2025 – Limitless Meet in Appleton
Many of Hortonville’s JV lifters competed at the Limitless meet to qualify for JV Nationals. They represented the team with grit and determination, earning their spots and gaining valuable meet experience.

 

State Qualifiers
Girls: Sam St. Louis, Catherine Geier, Claire Schmidt, Sam D'Addario, Allison Gagnow, Macy Hartjes, Sydney Jones, Carlee Olson


Boys: AJ Pheifer, Brock Wolter, Mason Pheifer, Gauge Van Linn, Luke Brochtrup, Walt Pitzner, Ashton Vallner, Reggie Kloehn, Christopher Troncoso

 

March 7–9, 2025 – State Championships
Hortonville had its strongest performance ever at State:

  • Three individual state champions, including the team’s first-ever female state champ:

    • Claire Schmidt – 1st Place

    • Reggie Kloehn – 1st Place

    • Ashton Vallner – 1st Place (set 3 state records)

  • Boys team finished 2nd overall

  • Additional top finishers:

    • Sam St. Louis – 3rd

    • Chris Troncoso – 3rd

    • Carlee Olson – 4th

 

March 20–23, 2025 – Nationals
The regular season concluded with a dominant showing at Nationals, competing against over 550 lifters from 46 teams:

  • Boys Varsity – 1st place

  • Girls Varsity – 3rd place

  • Girls JV – 1st place

 

National Individual Highlights:

  • Catherine Geier – 1st (JV)

  • Macy Hartjes – 2nd

  • Ashton Vallner – 2nd

  • Chris Troncoso – 3rd

  • Claire Schmidt – 3rd

  • Carlee Olson – 6th

  • Reggie Kloehn – 10th

  • Molly Meating, Hayden Heinz, and Sam St. Louis – All earned 2nd place (JV)

 

Because of the team’s outstanding performance at Nationals, Hortonville Powerlifting has been invited to compete at Student World Championships this May in Massachusetts—a huge honor and testament to the program's growth and national recognition.

 

In Summary:
The 2024–2025 Hortonville Powerlifting season was one for the record books. With team championships at both the state and national levels, multiple individual podium finishes, and an invite to Student Worlds, the team has established itself as a powerhouse in the sport. Their grit, determination, and commitment to excellence defined the season from start to finish.
